THE BOARD

Kees and Els Sinjorgo founders of Jembatan Senang

Since our retirement in 2007 we also spend several months in Bali every year. Besides enjoying everything Bali has to offer, we try to mean something for the local population in return. This led to the start of the Jembatan Senang project in early 2009. In recent years we have worked with much love and pleasure on the construction and maintenance of this project. We have enjoyed the good working relationship with the board members listed below and have confidently handed over our responsebillities to them on the 1st of january 2021.

Anke van der Linden
chairwoman as of 13-07-2022

I am a retired optician/contact lens specialist and have been coming to Bali for more then 20 years, mainly for nice holidays, but in recent years I have been a board member of Jembatan Senang with great pleasure. After my dear sister Nel passed away, I was offered the position of chairwoman which I accepted. It is so nice to see children with a disability learn and enjoy at school.

Ad Landheer
secretary

Hi readers, I joined the board of Jembatan Senang in September 2014. Before that I already did some services for Jembatan Senang, like helping with the 2 weekly swimming lessons. I am regularly in Bali and enjoy the island and its people and I therefore like to give something back to the people in our area. Old people with no family and people with physical or mental disabilities are among the most vulnerable residents of Bali. I am therefore happy to be able to do something for the latter group through Jembatan Senang.

Broddie Huinink
treasurer

Hello everyone. I am new as a board member of Jembatan Senang. I am married to Mimi and proud father / grandfather of 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren. After working for more than 39 years in the P&O department of the municipality of Doetinchem, I have retired on 1 August 2019. From 2010 I was secretary of the flower parade in Lichtenvoorde and thought it was time to stop. I was asked by Anke if I would like to take over the position of treasurer from Kees within the foundation. In 2014 we went to Bali with Anke and I was able to see with my own eyes what Kees and Els have built up and what joy this school gives the children. I would therefore like to contribute to this great initiative.

Aad Stoppelenburg
board member

I was born in 1948 and I live in Zoetermeer. During my working life I gained administrative experience as a manager of the largest school board for secondary education in the Netherlands. In my spare time as a board member of the sports and school council and as chairman of the participation council of a school community in Zoetermeer. During visits to Bali, through ex-colleague and friend Ad Landheer, I became acquainted with the projects he is committed to in Bali. I am very fond of caring for people with a mental and / or physical disability, not least because my wife has worked in an organization for people with a mental and / or physical disability. We have been following the developments of Jembatan Senang for years via Facebook and the enthusiastic stories of Ad. It's great that I can now also dedicate myself in this way to Jembatan Senang outside the donorship.

R.I.P.  Nel Lagas
ex chairwoman

With a sad heart we have to inform you that yesterday on the 30th of March, our chairwoman of the board, Nel Lagas, passed away after a battle against cancer. Nel was a kind, strong, social and resolute woman with a great sence of humor and therefore a very good chairwoman and very pleasant company. She was our chairwoman since 2015. We will miss her dearly. We wish her loved ones consolation out of good memories and a lot of strength in these hard times.
Selamat jalan Nel
